the extra "pocket money"
Most of us would have received our extra "pocket money" coming from our Government.
To be honest, Singapore is by far the only country whose Government actually gives cash to their citizens.
Singaporeans has been blessed in many ways and enjoyed way too many benefits but we're still complaining and whining. That's just life I guess, we love to complain and whine about things, and so I'm gona do it again.
Have you decided what to do with yours?
Some decided to buy a gadget they've been eyeing on, some to go on a short trip and others perhaps to pamper themselves with.
Remember, this extra "pocket money" is meant to help ease the inflation, especially for those always complaining of the increased cost of living, price of rice la, price of flour la, price of sugar..yadda...yadda...
then again, it is not even enough to pay off my last year's income tax. Not even a 50% of it. Paying for a tax where i don't even see that amount of cash in my bank nor anywhere else. i'm still puzzled over that amount of tax that was happily charged to me.
and me? well I'm still paying it off in a monthly installment....thanks for the extra "pocket money" though, i'd take it as a subsidy off the tax charged to me last year.
Now that election is round the corner, like many other Singaporeans, I wonder if I should approach the contestant for Potong Pasir with my income tax last year and enquire on the amount and if they can just waive it off for me.
that's what Singaporeans love to do, we are opportunist. It's either now you get them to do things for you & promised that you + your whole family of ancestors will vote for them, or you wait 4 years later till the next election.
You see, when Papa is still around, I can claim a parent handicap relief. a WHOPPING $11,000 on your annual income, like HELLO? a month's hospital bill is close to that amount already, let alone 8 months of hospitalization.
Now it's time to be an opportunist and see which party can do better for us.
Will you please waive off the remaining tax i'm due to pay?
ok i'm not making sense, it's ok, that's how confused my shrunken brain is anyway...
